Another Great Auction 12th February
A collection of British five-shilling (crown) coins spanning the mid-20th century. The group includes several 1951 Festival of Britain crowns depicting St. George and the Dragon on the reverse, a 1953 Coronation crown with Queen Elizabeth II on horseback, and multiple 1960 and 1977 issues displaying cruciform armorial shields. These coins are struck in cupro-nickel or a similar silver-colored base metal. Obverse inscriptions include GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D: and ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA BRITT OMN REGINA FIDEI DEFENSOR. The coins feature milled edges and standard circulation and commemorative designs for the period.
