Another Great Auction 12th February
A collection of British cupro-nickel five-shilling crown coins, primarily comprising 1953 Coronation and 1960 British Exhibition issues. The 1953 specimens feature an obverse depiction of Queen Elizabeth II on horseback with a reverse design of four quartered shields of arms separated by the floral emblems of the United Kingdom. The 1960 issues display a similar heraldic reverse. Inscriptions include ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA BRITT OMN REGINA FIDEI DEFENSOR and the denomination FIVE SHILLINGS. The 1953 coins feature the edge inscription FAITH AND TRUTH I WILL BEAR UNTO YOU.
