This antique French Calvary sculptural group features a central crucifix mounted on an ornate tiered pedestal. The structure is composed of gilt-finished metal, likely brass or bronze, featuring intricate openwork filigree and molded scrollwork motifs. The group includes three polychrome-painted figures crafted from plaster or a similar composition material, depicting Christ on the cross, the Virgin Mary in blue robes, and St. John the Apostle in green and peach garments. A silver-toned plaque inscribed with INRI is positioned above the central figure of Christ. The crucifix is supported by a rectangular base with matching gilt finish and decorative molding.
