Another Great Auction 12th February
This 19th-century 1/6 plate daguerreotype depicts a man in formal period attire, including a high collar and bowtie. The photograph is presented behind an oval brass mat featuring an ornate, embossed scrollwork pattern. The image is housed in a two-part Union case lined with deep burgundy velvet that is decorated with an embossed floral and foliage motif. The exterior of the case features a dark, leather-like covering.
