A Chinese export-style rectangular lidded box featuring polychrome decorated porcelain panels set within an ornate metal frame. The exterior lid is decorated with a narrative scene depicting figures in traditional attire within a garden setting, while the side panels feature stylized floral patterns. The box is constructed with decorative butterfly-shaped corner mounts and a hinged metal latch. The interior is lined with ceramic featuring pronounced crazing and underglaze blue pictorial scenes depicting erotic subjects.
