Another Great Auction 12th February
A British military issue hand bell featuring a cast brass body and a turned wooden handle. The shoulder of the bell is stamped with the British Broad Arrow pheon mark, the date 1942, and the letter S. The wooden handle is finished with a hand-carved Roman numeral VI. The interior contains a metal clapper attached to the crown via a metal chain. This type of bell was utilized during World War II for civil defense and air raid precaution signaling.
