Another Great Auction 12th February
A large tapered ceramic vase of square section with a flared rim and base, featuring two gilded handles. The body is decorated in the Orientalist style, depicting a woman in a green kimono with a parasol and a child holding blossoms, surrounded by colorful lanterns and gilded foliage. The scene is set against a graduated cream to green ground. The underside of the base bears the gold-stamped marks 4173 and MADE IN ENGLAND, an impressed 18L mark, and remnants of a paper label.
