Another Great Auction 12th February
A collection of British royal commemorative medals and medallions, primarily struck in white metal, marking various significant events of the early 20th century. The group includes several 1935 Silver Jubilee medals for King George V and Queen Mary, featuring octagonal examples issued by the Middlesex County Council. Also present are 1937 Coronation medals for King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, and a medallion commemorating the Birmingham celebrations from 1910-1935. The pieces feature embossed profiles of the monarchs and associated heraldic imagery, such as the arms of the County of Middlesex. Some items retain their original red, white, and blue ribbons. One set of items is contained within a plastic bag with a handwritten tag identifying them as 1937 Coronation medals struck in tin-lead, noting the Arms of London and a weight of 19.5 grams with a 38mm diameter.
