Another Great Auction 12th February
This mid-20th century hand-carved camphor wood jewelry or trinket box, frequently identified as a Hong Kong luck box, features intricate bas-relief carvings across its exterior surfaces. The decorative program depicts East Asian figures within architectural and landscape settings, framed by stylized floral and cloud borders. The chest is constructed with an unfinished interior that reveals the natural grain of the camphor wood. It is fitted with decorative brass hardware, including a traditional front latch and internal hinges with a stay arm. The piece displays a warm, aged patina throughout the carved surfaces.
