A mid-20th-century salt-glazed stoneware flagon produced for Markham’s Botanical Brewers of Queen Street, Gainsboro. The vessel features a cylindrical body, a sloping shoulder, and a single loop handle. The shoulder is decorated with a black transfer print reading This bottle is the property of Markham’s Botanical Brewers, Queen Street, Gainsboro, dated 1946, and includes a legal warning regarding unauthorized detention. The flagon stands 12 inches tall and is fitted with a dark-colored threaded screw-cap.
