A pair of hand-painted bone china figurines produced by Royale Stratford of Staffordshire, England, for Compton and Woodhouse. The group consists of two anthropomorphic pig characters dressed in traditional English attire. The female character, identified on the base as Mrs. Pig, is depicted in a magenta and blue dress with a white patterned apron and a gold-colored necklace. The male character is depicted seated in a chair, wearing a blue jacket, a yellow waistcoat with embroidered details, and brown breeches, while holding a small metallic-finished vessel. Both figurines feature a vibrant glazed finish and detailed molded features. The undersides are marked with the Royale Stratford crown mark, the Compton and Woodhouse name, and the artist initials CM. Mrs. Pig is designated as number 384 of a limited edition of 2,500. The male figure is designated as number 895 of a limited edition of 2,500.
