Another Great Auction 12th February
A collection of Victorian gold embossed and die-cut ephemera and a small devotional volume dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The group includes several greeting cards and valentines featuring chromolithographed floral motifs and intricate paper lace. One birthday card is marked Raphael Tuck and Sons. The cards feature various themes including birthday greetings and remembrance, with decorations such as roses, nasturtiums, and lilies of the valley. Some cards utilize layered paper construction and pink silk fringe borders. The accompanying small volume is titled The Golden Text Book, bound in leather with gilt titles on the spine and a floral-decorated cover. The interior features daily biblical passages arranged by date.
