Another Great Auction 12th February
A Coalport fine bone china figurine titled Flamenco, part of the A Passion for Dance collection. This piece was sculpted by David Lyttleton for Compton and Woodhouse, designated as model CW 434. The figurine depicts a female dancer in a dynamic pose, wearing a voluminous, ruffled deep-red gown with gilt-edged tiers. The figure is shown holding a floral-decorated fan in the left hand and castanets in the raised right hand. The hair is styled in a bun accented by a red flower. The base features the Coalport maker mark and indicates this is a limited edition piece, numbered 1390 of 9,500. The figurine is finished with a high-gloss glaze and gilded accents.
