An antique primitive Chinese rice grain basket constructed from weathered wood planks and reinforced with iron. The piece features a rectangular form with a central wooden divider and a rounded end. The structure is heavily reinforced with numerous hand-forged or early industrial iron bands, plates, and straps secured with rivets, particularly along the corners and across the wooden joints. This utilitarian object served as a grain measure or harvest bucket.
