Another Great Auction 19th February
This collection consists of three items manufactured from reclaimed wood salvaged from the ocean liner RMS Mauretania. The group includes two barrel-shaped vessels and a tapered letter opener. Each item features an affixed brass plaque embossed with the inscription: FROM THE DECKING OF THE MAURETANIA – THE OLD LADY OF THE ATLANTIC. The wooden components are finished in a dark stain and exhibit turned details, with the barrels featuring horizontal ribbing to simulate staves. The brass plaques are secured with small metal pins and show a natural aged patina.
