A pair of original ?19th-century printed paper broadsides detailing theatrical performances at the Theatre, Doncaster. The first playbill is dated Wednesday, October 5, 1831, for the benefit of the Brothers Ridgway, featuring the plays Serjeant’s Wife, Grecian Statues, Old Commodore, French Washerwomen, and Pellardoc the Wizard. The second playbill is dated Friday, October 19, 1832, for the benefit of the Company, featuring Sheridan’s comedy The Rivals! Or, A Trip to Bath, alongside The Kiss and A Dead Shot. Both documents provide comprehensive cast lists, performance times, ticket prices, and the printer’s credit for Brooke and Co., Printers, High-Street, Doncaster. The playbills are mounted in matching black frames equipped with top hanging rings.
