Another Great Auction 19th February
An Edwardian needlework sampler executed in colored threads on a linen ground. The composition features multiple rows of uppercase and lowercase alphabets alongside numerals and decorative geometric borders. A central column contains a stitched biblical verse from Isaiah 52:7. The work is signed and dated at the lower right: Vida Morse Besley, Age 12 yrs, Watchet, Finished Jan 1902. The piece is mounted within a decorative gilt frame.
