Another Great Auction 19th February
A collection of commemorative glassware relating to British railway history. The group includes a clear glass stemmed goblet featuring an etched circular crest for the Leeds and Selby Railway Co., inscribed with the dates 1834-1984 and depicting an early steam locomotive. Also included is a cut-crystal tumbler with a cross-hatched pattern, etched with the Great North Eastern Railway emblem. The tumbler retains a gold-tone manufacturer label for Edinburgh Crystal, stating it was handcrafted in Scotland. The tumbler is housed in a black presentation box with a red satin-lined interior, the lid of which is gold-stamped with the Great North Eastern Railway crest.
