This miniature porcelain novelty teapot and matching saucer set is modeled in the form of a stylized elephant. The teapot is constructed with a trunk-form spout, a gilded loop handle, and a removable lid comprising the elephant head. The body and lid are decorated with hand-painted fan-shaped and floral motifs in shades of blue and pink, accented by gold-tone gilding. The accompanying saucer is designed in a complementary fan shape with matching decorative patterns and a gilded rim. No maker marks are visible on the underside of either piece.
