A Victorian mahogany hall chair produced by William Wood, Upholsterer and Cabinetmaker of 12 King Street, South Shields. The piece features a shaped backrest centered by a carved monogram TDT within a textured field, framed by decorative scrollwork. The chair is constructed with a solid, tapered seat and is supported by turned front legs and square-section raked rear legs. A partial yellow oval trade label is affixed to the underside, providing the maker’s name and address.
