An English carved oak spinning chair featuring a dark-stained finish. The piece is constructed with a tripod base consisting of three turned, tapered legs supporting an octagonal seat. The seat is decorated with high-relief carvings of scrolling acanthus leaves and foliate motifs. The tall, narrow backrest is similarly decorated with relief-carved oak leaf designs and includes an integrated oval hand-hold near the top.
