Another Great Auction 19th February
This rectangular wall mirror is constructed with a mahogany frame and features gilded metal or composition appliqués in the Neoclassical taste. The upper section is surmounted by a heavily molded and gilded cornice with scroll and beadwork detailing. Below the cornice, the frame is decorated with classical motifs including a central laurel wreath flanked by floral swags and bows. The beveled mirror plate is set within a simple molded inner border. The side rails are further embellished with vertical foliate swags.
