Another Great Auction 19th February
A vintage black felt bowler hat manufactured by Battersby, London. The hat features a matching grosgrain ribbon band and a stiffened brim. The interior is lined with pleated white silk and features the maker’s crest and logo printed in the center. A brown leather sweatband is visible. The hat is accompanied by its original cardboard storage box. The box lid retains a paper retailer’s label for Edward Smith and Sons, Ltd., Drapers, West Melton, NR Rotherham, along with a Battersby brand label and a partial red Parcel Post sticker.
