Another Great Auction 19th February
A pair of Royal Doulton fine bone china cabinet plates from the Collectors Gallery Edition series. The lot includes two plates featuring central transfer-printed illustrations by artist Andrew Wheatcroft, titled Nelson at Trafalgar and Wellington at Waterloo. The Nelson at Trafalgar plate depicts the naval engagement of October 21, 1805, while the Wellington at Waterloo plate depicts the Duke of Wellington on horseback. Both plates feature ornate borders incorporating heraldic crests, national flags, and thematic motifs such as anchors, cannons, and weaponry, finished with a gilt rim. The reverse of the Nelson at Trafalgar plate bears the Royal Doulton lion and crown backstamp, the series title, the artist signature, and the date 1994. It is marked as number 1897 from a limited edition of 3,500 pieces. Both items are fitted with spring-tensioned wire wall hangers.
