Another Great Auction 19th February
A Royal Doulton Princess Badoura hand-decorated bone china figurine, model HN4179. This piece was modeled by Robert I. Tabbenor and issued in 2001 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the original 1952 design. The figurine depicts a princess in voluminous pink robes and ornate headwear seated atop a gray elephant with decorative red and gold caparisons. An attendant figure is positioned forward on the elephant’s neck. The work is set on an integral rectangular black base and features a palette of pink, blue, red, and gold accents. The underside is fully marked with the Royal Doulton logo, title, modeler’s name, and is hand-numbered 222 from a limited edition of 500.
