A contemporary sculpture from the Country Artists A Breed Apart collection, specifically the Wallow pattern. This piece depicts two hippopotamuses in a playful, stacked arrangement, with the larger animal lying on its back and supporting the smaller animal on its underside. The sculpture is rendered in a textured, matte, earth-toned stoneware mimicking the natural folds and creases of hippopotamus skin. Details include open mouths with visible teeth, large inset eyes with applied eyelashes, a yellow floral element by one ear, and a green leaf-shaped detail on a limb.
