Another Great Auction 19th February
A graduated pair of sterling silver dishes constructed in a shell-form with fluted interiors and scalloped edges. Each piece is supported by three scroll feet. The interiors feature a partial gold-wash finish. Both items are struck with English hallmarks for Birmingham, 1907, including the lion passant for sterling silver and the anchor for the Birmingham assay office. The maker’s mark W D is for William Devenport.
