Another Great Auction 19th February
This lot consists of two studio pottery vessels of chalice form. The first vessel is finished in a textured dark gray-green glaze and decorated with hand-painted stylized leaf or insect motifs. It features a tiered pedestal base and the underside bears a hand-painted inscription reading RB York. The second, larger vessel displays a cream-toned glaze with abstract green and brown foliate designs and a wide flared rim. The base reveals an unglazed terracotta clay body with an impressed potter’s mark. Both items are wheel-thrown.
Height of larger vessel: 14 cm
