A James Macintyre and Co. ceramic commemorative paper weight produced for the 1911 coronation of King George V and Queen Mary. The circular container features a sage green ribbed base and a white lid with polychrome transfer-printed decoration. The top depicts a royal crest, flags, floral emblems, and a central commemorative inscription reading In Commemoration of the Coronation of His Most Excellent Majesty King George V and His Most Gracious Consort Queen Mary June 22 1911. The underside is marked with the Macintyre and Co. Burslem England stamp, the registered design number 570234, and a retailer mark for Townsend and Co. Newcastle on Tyne. A handwritten inventory number in red is also present on the base. The piece is finished with gilt accents along the rims.
