A 2006 sterling silver proof commemorative two pound coin issued for South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. This coin was issued as part of The Queen Elizabeth II Eightieth Birthday Silver Proof Collection. The reverse features a dual portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, inscribed with the text 80 years and the denomination £2. The obverse depicts the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin is presented in a clear protective capsule and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the issuing authority.
