A Victorian sterling silver collar necklace featuring a triple-row book-link chain with spherical bead accents along the outer edges. The chain terminates in a large circular spring ring clasp. Suspended from the chain is an oval locket pendant. The front of the locket is decorated with an engraved scene of a bird among foliage, set within a tiered geometric border. The interior of the locket contains a coiled lock of hair set against a purple fabric lining behind a protective cover, characteristic of mourning or sentimental jewelry. The piece exhibits a natural patina throughout.
