A 9ct yellow gold ring featuring a circular-cut purple gemstone, identified as an amethyst. The stone is bezel-set within a raised decorative mount featuring a scalloped border. The ring is designed with a wide, tapering shank. The interior of the band displays several hallmarks, including the crown gold mark, the 375 purity mark, the anchor symbol for the Birmingham assay office, and a date letter. The piece is presented in a vintage-style circular blue velvet jewelry box with a cream-colored silk and satin lining.
