Another Great Auction 26th February
A pair of silver commemorative five-crown coins issued by the Turks and Caicos Islands in 1997. The obverse of each coin features the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, surrounded by the inscriptions TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS, ELIZABETH II, 1997, and FIVE CROWNS. The reverse depicts two profiles in relief with the text LADY OF THE CENTURY and 1937 CORONATION, commemorating Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Each coin exhibits a proof-like finish with frosted details against mirrored fields. The coins are presented in individual clear plastic protective capsules.
Condition report:
The coins appear to be in excellent, uncirculated condition with sharp relief and no visible signs of wear or handling. The protective capsules show minor surface scuffing but remain intact.
