A Chinese lacquered brush box featuring a reddish-brown textured finish with painted decoration. The lid depicts birds in flight near a rocky outcrop, rendered in gold and polychrome pigments. The box is constructed with a black lacquer interior and is fitted with metal hinges. A two-character signature is present in the upper corner of the lid.
