Another Great Auction 26th February
A collection of satirical prints by the Dutch artist Louis Raemaekers, depicting various scenes and propaganda themes from the First World War. The collection includes works with printed titles and captions such as Murder on the High Seas, It is Fattening Work, A Letter from the German Trenches, and The Zeppelin Triumph. One illustration features a skeletal figure wearing a belt inscribed with the German phrase Gott Mit Uns. Each piece bears a printed signature from the artist. The prints are presented in matching dark wood frames with gilt accents and cream-coloured mats.
