A WW2 British civilian gas mask and associated cylindrical metal storage canister. The canister is finished in olive drab paint and features a lid attached by a coarse rope cord. The lid is printed with black text reading GAS MASK and NAME & ADDRESS. The mask is constructed from dark rubber or a flexible synthetic material, fitted with a large cylindrical filter that has a green-colored mesh face. This type of respirator was standard issue for civilians in the United Kingdom during World War II.
