Another Great Auction 26th February
A two-tone glazed stoneware lidded churn of utilitarian design. The vessel features a rounded body with two integrated lug handles and is finished with a glossy reddish-brown glaze on the upper portion and a matte buff-colored lower section. The matching lid includes a central knob with a circular aperture, traditionally used to accommodate a wooden dasher. This 13-inch tall stoneware piece displays manufacturing characteristics and glaze application consistent with late 19th to early 20th-century production. Similar examples are frequently associated with regional American potteries of the period.
