A vintage ophthalmic vision testing lightbox manufactured by Archer-Elliott of London. The apparatus is constructed with a metal frame finished in gray hammertone paint and houses multiple translucent panels. These panels feature reversed Snellen letters, Landolt C rings, and bichromatic test patterns, specifically designed for reflected use with a mirror. The unit incorporates an integrated acuity scale and is operated via a separate wired control box. This control box is marked ARCHER-ELLIOTT LONDON and is equipped with a series of white toggle switches used to select various diagnostic charts and lighting configurations. The device is fitted with a standard UK three-pin plug.
