A late 19th or early 20th-century figural cast metal inkstand featuring a saddled and bridled horse standing upon a naturalistic rock-form base. The piece is finished in a dark brown bronze-toned patina. The base incorporates two circular inkwell receptacles. A partial mark reading OVER is present on the lower edge. The form and construction are similar to equestrian desk accessories produced by Kronheim and Oldenbusch.
