A pair of mid-20th-century black baby dolls of varying sizes and materials. The larger example is constructed from glossy black hard plastic and is embossed Pedigree on the reverse of the neck. This doll features moulded hair, sleeping eyes with lashes, and painted facial details including red lips and white teeth. It is dressed in a blue knitted two-piece outfit with white button closures. The second, smaller doll is fashioned from a matte-finished plastic with sleeping eyes and moulded hair, wearing a red short-sleeved shirt under a floral print pinafore. Both dolls feature articulated limbs.
