A late 19th-century needlework sampler executed in monochromatic brown cross-stitch on a coarse weave fabric ground. The work features multiple rows of alphabets in various scripts, numeric sequences, and Roman numerals. The composition is flanked by decorative motifs including stylised trees, hearts, animals, and crowns, with a central basket of flowers. The piece is inscribed Clara Kirk Aged 10 Years and dated 1879. It is housed behind glass in a light-toned, ornate decorative frame.
