A Scottish sterling silver and taxidermy grouse foot brooch by Ward Brothers. The piece features a preserved grouse foot with original fur and talons, mounted within a silver setting. The terminal is set with a large, oval, faceted orange gemstone, possibly a citrine or glass, held in a decorative claw setting. The silver mount is struck with Edinburgh hallmarks, including the thistle, lion rampant, maker mark WB for Ward Brothers, and the date letter z. The reverse is fitted with a pin and C-clasp fastener.
