A collection of vintage postcards featuring various humorous and risque cartoon illustrations in the style of mid-20th-century seaside saucy postcards. The cards are printed in colour on cardstock and depict a range of comedic scenarios including domestic life, romantic encounters, and animals. Several examples feature bilingual captions in English and French, such as Dont Leave Me / Ne t’en vas pas sans moi. The collection includes various puns and double-entendres with captions such as Take a litter Miss Jackson!, Vote for Higgs, and Small son: But mum, for months you’ve said you’d die for a piece of seaside rock!. Visible artist signatures or marks on the cards include Rex, Pedro, Fitzpatrick, and Right. The illustrations are rendered in a caricature aesthetic typical of the period.
