This antique wooden blanket chest is constructed from a dark-stained hardwood, possibly walnut or mahogany. The rectangular form features hand-cut dovetail joinery at the corners and is supported by a plinth base with short bracket feet. The chest includes a hinged lid and a small, central keyhole on the front face. The piece is of a size suitable for use as a coffee table or storage trunk.
