A collection of souvenir and decorative thimbles, primarily constructed from glazed porcelain and ceramic, with several metal examples included. The thimbles feature a wide variety of colourful transfer-printed motifs, including topographical scenes of British and international locations such as the Isle of Wight, Exmouth, Jersey, Tenerife, Ironbridge, Bakewell, and Portsmouth. Other designs include floral patterns, wildlife such as owls and squirrels, and commemorative themes including the Queen Mother’s 95th birthday and the Millennium 2000. Many examples feature gilt-edged rims. The collection is housed in two multi-compartment wooden shadow box display cases of differing wood tones and construction.
