Another Great Auction 12th March 2026
A collection of British Royal Navy enlisted sailor’s uniform items, attributed to the mid to late 20th century. The group comprises a dark navy blue wool jumper featuring a front zip fastening, a detachable blue jean collar with three white stripes, and a red embroidered sleeve badge. Accompanying the jumper are matching navy blue wool trousers. The headgear consists of a white-topped sailor’s cap with a black tally band bearing the inscription H.M.S. ROOKE in gold lettering. Also included is a gold bullion embroidered trade patch depicting a three-bladed propeller with a star, typically denoting a Leading Engineering Mechanic. The patch is housed in a clear plastic bag with spare fabric remnants and a paper scrap bearing the handwritten service number 3030163.
