A pair of decorative bookends, each featuring a revolving globe mounted on an L-shaped wooden base with a reddish-brown stain. The globes are finished with reproduction 17th-century style maps, featuring Italian text including globo Terracqueo and references to the years 1684-1692, alongside nautical illustrations and early cartography. Each globe is set within a black meridian ring graduated from 0 to 90 degrees in orange. The items are attributed to Italian manufacture based on the cartographic style and text.
