A trio of glazed ceramic commemorative dishes produced by Wade, England, to mark the 1953 Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The group consists of three examples finished in cobalt blue, honey brown, and sage green glazes. Each dish features a relief-moulded central shield with the royal cypher E II R, surrounded by animals symbolic of the Commonwealth nations including a lion, kangaroo, kiwi, springbok, and elephant. The embossed text around the fluted rims lists Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and India under the banner BRITISH EMPIRE. Each item is marked on the reverse with the circular stamp WADE ENGLAND CORONATION 1953 and features a scalloped unglazed foot rim.
