A Sadler ceramic onion storage jar of bulbous form with a matching lid. The body is decorated with raised scrollwork and stylised patterns that form a face, flanked by two small scrolled handles. The lid tapers to a flattened top and features the embossed word Onion. The piece is finished in a glossy honey-brown glaze with darker tonal accents highlighting the relief details. The base is impressed with the maker mark SADLER and ENGLAND.
